The Savage is a light bike and subject to lots of buffeting effects - be aware of where you are on the road and where other vehicles are at all times. There is no total way to avoid the impact of wind ( or tires disintegrating either) but with awareness you can anticipate what is going to happen next. A small windshield helps protect your eyes from the impact of buffeting but the bike is still going to squirm around.
Oh and did I mention take a motorcycle riders safety course? - otherwise there is no way you are going to keep the rubber side down.
